Philosophy

One Belief. Four Stages. A Whole Education.

Built Different. On Purpose.

We believe children learn best when they're genuinely curious โ€” asking questions, getting their hands dirty, and making real connections with the world. That belief drives everything we do, from Brave Roots at birth through Brave Wings, Brave Generation, and Brave Pathways all the way to university.

๐Ÿ‘ค

Learner-Centred

Every child learns differently. Our programmes adapt to them, not the other way around.

๐Ÿงญ

Flexible by Design

No rigid timetables. Families choose when, where, and how learning happens.

๐Ÿ’ก

Hands-On & Enquiry-Based

Less memorising, more discovering. Children learn by doing, asking, and making.

๐Ÿ…

Real Qualifications

From primary portfolios to internationally recognised IGCSEs and university degrees.

๐Ÿ’›

Character & Wellbeing

Courage, curiosity, kindness, resilience โ€” not just academic grades.

๐Ÿก

Family-Friendly

Designed for real families. Works around your life, wherever you are in the world.

The Educational Frameworks Behind Brave Education

๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Finnish Model

Phenomenon-Based Learning

Finland replaced isolated subjects with cross-curricular enquiry. Children explore real-world phenomena drawing on maths, science, language and arts simultaneously. Every Brave Wings week begins with a big question, not a textbook chapter.

The Four Purposes

Wales built its curriculum around four goals: ambitious learner, creative contributor, ethical citizen, and confident individual. Brave Education is built around exactly these same outcomes โ€” the whole person, not just grades.

๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ Singapore Model

Concrete โ†’ Pictorial โ†’ Abstract

Singapore's #1-ranked maths approach teaches each concept in three stages: Concrete (handling objects), Pictorial (diagrams), then Abstract (symbols) โ€” only once truly understood. Used in every Brave Wings maths session.

How Brave Education Began

It started with Brave Generation Academy โ€” a secondary programme built on a simple conviction: the world has changed, but education hasn't. Young people today need flexibility, not rigidity. They need to think, not just memorise.

BGA proved it worked. Learners thrived. Families chose a different path and never looked back. But one question kept coming up: why does this have to start at 11?

If teenagers learn best when they're curious, self-directed, and supported rather than controlled โ€” wouldn't younger children benefit from the same philosophy? That's how Brave Education was born.

Four programmes. One belief. Education should grow with the learner โ€” not force the learner to fit the system.

Primary Curriculum ยท Ages 5โ€“11

Brave Wings: The Weekly Structure

Brave Wings is a complete 6-year primary curriculum (216 weeks) built around a repeating weekly rhythm. Each week explores one big question through four subject sessions and an open Discovery Day. No specialist teaching experience required.

๐Ÿ” Enquiry Day

45 min

A hands-on investigation, experiment, or observation. Children develop scientific thinking and ask their own questions. No lab equipment needed โ€” just curiosity and household materials.

๐ŸŽจ Quest Day

60 min

A creative, project-based session. Over 4 weeks, children complete a tangible Quest โ€” a piece of art, a model, a performance, or a presentation.

๐Ÿ”ข Maths Day

40 min

Concrete โ†’ Pictorial โ†’ Abstract (CPA) approach inspired by Singapore maths mastery. Three clearly structured phases every session, accessible for every learner.

๐Ÿ“– Literacy Day

45 min

A read-aloud, vocabulary focus, writing task, and phonics/spelling pattern โ€” always connected to the week's theme. Rich language, real ideas.

๐ŸŒŸ Friday โ€” Discovery Day (Unstructured)

Child-led, no prep needed. A menu of optional activities: free reading, outdoor exploration, creative making, or following a curiosity from the week. This is the most loved day in many families.

Kitchen Table Chat

Every week includes 3 conversation starters โ€” deep, open questions connected to the theme, designed for dinner time or a walk. No preparation. Just good conversation between adults and children.

Families tell us these conversations are one of the things they love most about Brave Wings.

Singapore CPA Maths

C โ€” Concrete

Physical objects, real-world manipulation. Children build understanding in their hands first.

P โ€” Pictorial

Drawings, diagrams, bar models. The bridge between physical and abstract.

A โ€” Abstract

Number sentences and symbols โ€” only once the concept is truly understood.
